Bandkraft Brass Band Music
An truly impressive series of brass band music brought together by John Golland and others.
Bandkraft is a unique collection of modern brass band pieces that are suitably arranged for progressing ability levels throughout the series.
Impressive sounding and highly enjoyable to play, the Bandkraft series is an essential tool for all young brass bands.
The series has been thoughtfully written to ensure an effective performance is possible even when certain instruments are missing from practices and rehearsals.
The music is beautifully scored on quality A4 paper and is presented in a tough outer sleeve.

Bandkraft 1 :
1) Bandkraft Concert Piece - John Golland A thrilling syncopated introduction leads the piece through a fanfare-like journey. Dissonant in dangerous in parts!
2)Saraband - Gordon Jacob A contrasting slow tempo piece with the stately manner of an Elizabethan dance. Beautiful, delicate harmonies used to the greatest effect.
3) La Donna e Mobile - arr. Roy Newsome An amusing arrangement of Verdi's classic. Easy to play and enjoyable to listen to!
4) Spike's Rag - Michael Ball A character full piece written in the same ragged time effect as Scott Joplin. A constant pace and the unravelling conversations between the band sections makes for unforgettable entertainment.
5) The National Anthem - arr. John Golland A standard for any band but not always available in the required ability level. This version contains both easy and more complex options including optional counter melody and chromatic harmonies as you progress.

Bandkraft 2 :
1) Jazz Intermezzo - Peter Sievewright This intriguing jazz piece was commissioned and recorded by the Besses o'th Barn band. The close harmonies create a luscious texture beneath the lively jazz theme. Peter is an outstanding graduate of keyboard and composition from the Royal Northern College of Music.
2) Bossa Nova - John Golland There is much fun to be had with this Bossa Nova rhythm , before and after mastering it. An addictive and enjoyable piece with a melody that's not easy to forget!
3) Ballade - Grieg arr. Ifor James A simple poignant horn melody unravels from the horn section. A marvellous display for phrasing and intonation and is well worth the practice.
4) Bollin Hill Suite - Philip Malbon A classic suite for all brass bands. Concise yet complete. This piece exhibits a great command of composition which is certain to gain respect within the band world.

Bandkraft 3 :
1) March Commodore - Ifor James A delightful piece with character and pace. This modern march is well suited for a concert performance or on the march.
2) The Aristocrat (Trombone Solo) - Roy Newsome It's not difficult, just good, almost animated, musical fun for band and audience alike which gives the trombone an opportunity to make a fool of himself!
3) Waltz of the Clouds - Alfred Ashpole Alfred Ashpole, with his unparalleled experience of writing for bands has indulged in the ever popular Viennese style waltz with all its possibilities.
4) Pink Panther - Mancini arr. John Golland This original classic from the Pink Panther has been translated fro brass very effectively. This strong, gripping melody is a true crowd pleaser. Watch out for the sneaky rhythms which need proper dance band tretment.
